We have all experienced anger at some time in our lives wouldn’t you agree?
How we manage it though determines its effects both to ourselves and those around us.
Let’s think about what anger really is!
Its a reaction to flight or fight produced or triggered from fear,a feeling that’s preminary to protect us, that fear can come in different forms though!
An example of different forms of fear!
1.You are happily driving down the road with your children in the back in your car off for a day out, when suddenly a car overtakes on a bend and narrowly misses causing a serious accident!
You are enraged, angry and feel belligerent!
The anger you are experiencing is a true fear of injury to yourself and your offspring.
2. You are with your new girlfriend or boyfriend at a busy party having a fantastic time, when you go off to the toilet, you arrive back and see your partner talking with an attractive man/women and suddenly you feel anger!
Jealously over takes you, feelings of rage, but wait a minute there is no threat to your physical being, only imaginary thoughts going through your mind have triggered this anger……
Sometimes we have to change the way we think to enable our minds to see a situation in a totally different light.
1. Try and imagine even though the driver over taking did endanger your lifes that he or she has just had a phone call telling them their daughter has been in an accident at school. That would change the whole situation……
2. Those imaginary thoughts have played havoc with your feelings and when you discover your boyfriend/girlfriend was talking to her boss who’s gay you feel incredibly silly. If only you had checked your thoughts and tried to see the situation for what it really was, you could of made things so much easier on yourself……
Trying to diffuse those feelings of
anger really will benefit you and those around you, unless of course its a real life or death situation which happens luckily very rarely.
Remember keep checking those thoughts and see your life change and transform for the better…….
