One small change at a time….

Photograph by Noor Iskandar. Flickr

Just as this beautiful butterfly was once a caterpillar, so can we also manifest and change our life’s!

We all want change really if we’re totally honest, unless you want to stand still because change means moving forward, it means improving and checking who we are, the hard part is achieving the change and making it a habit, a lifestyle…..

Whether it be a habit of food, exercise, or thought of mind I find the best way is to just make one small change at a time and practice that for a few weeks so that it becomes habit forming before introducing another change and so hence then not getting too over whelmed or worst still failing with the change, giving up!!

This amazing picture shows the change that hasn’t happened overnight, the seasons take time just as any change in your lifestyle or mind takes time.

• Always visualise your goal in your mind. • Be realistic.
• Be patient.
• Be kind to yourself still though.
• Be determined.
• Be organised.
• Always be mindful.
• Expect failure but try again, don’t give up.
• Keep positive, combat the negative.

These are some of my methods, simple yet they are really helpful, the most important being in my opinion is realistic and mindful always. The true power of the mind is really all you ever need. It’s like a muscle keep practising and it will become stronger…..

Not forgetting the very important gut feeling, the heart.
Without your heart in anything you’ll never achieve a result. So don’t start trying to change if really you don’t want it……

Start tomorrow, make that decision whatever it is that you are unhappy with in your life, remember you are the only one who has the power to change it.

If you have any stories of how you have changed your life please comment and share with me, I’d love to hear them….

Dementia’s Robbery!

Photograph by Wann Mekwi Flickr

She’s gone, no longer like my mum,
She may hear me but understanding not!
The pain of realisation that she’s gone….
A stranger has inhabited her body!

Its a robbery of her soul,
Its killing us all,
Dementia’s agony…..

The tears I can cry but still she’s gone,
Strength I must find for my dearest dad,
Ripping away her memories,
Erasing her personality…..

Its a robbery of her soul,
Its killing us all,
Dementia’s deepest agony……

Turn on her favourite music,
Be positive be strong,
Find a moments lucid glimpse,
Fooling us all in an instant could it be a nightmare?

Its a robbery of my Mum,
We miss her I scream
Dementia’s demands…..

Just let her see me one more time,
Hold converse and tell her so she knows,
It won’t happen I know,
For dementia has taken her mind……

We all need friendship!

Skin Deep ~ Mandy Moran

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words…….

Friendship is priceless…..

We all have friends, some are merely acquaintance’s, some are casual contacts but there are a handful maybe less, that are truly special friends.

Childhood friendships…

We all remember our childhood playground experiences of friends, back then it was based on games played together, toys shared, even sometimes just down to the geographic reason of being neighbours.
Either way childhood friends if kept into adulthood are extremely special.
The experience of literally growing up together, memories of wonderful fun times is incredibly powerful, an almost identity between you both is present, truly priceless….

Work friends!

I myself have made some amazing friends through my work, one in particular has been present in my life and remains a constant…
