Wedding fever

Photograph ‘Flickr – Lovilee’

We all dream of a fairy tale wedding, the glamour, the romance, pure delightful bliss, love, lace and lavish splendor….

Where magical memories are made to be etched in our minds for a lifetime!!

So its no real surprise then with all this in mind that planning a wedding does endure a huge amount unfortunately of stress and pressure.
Difficult times can be inevitable, disagreements and much more can erupt, but don’t despair before you have even started because I’ve put together my five top tips for a stress free wedding plan and day.

1. Preparations, dates, venue, etc – listed in a book or laptop for easy access and continued reference.
Having a data reference of all the particulars, including the financial dealings with budget included, will help keep you focused and organized.
You can refer back and almost use it as vision board, even sticking fabric swatches for the outfits and imagines from venues and flower ideas to help you build the wedding you dream of.

2.Keep it realistic and don’t set yourself unreachable targets.
Being a realist in the process of planning your wedding isn’t the easiest task but you do need to keep to budgets and timelines. Without sensible decisions within reason of your vision you can find yourself in hot water. Trying to achieve the unachievable is like banging your head against a brick wall, so in a nutshell don’t expect a castle if its not within your budget. The smallest of occasions can be as wonderfully enchanting as a banquet….

3.Be willing to consider others differences – flexible on your ideas, keeping an open mind.
That stubborn ego can surface and want all his own way, admittable it is your day but do remember its about others too. Do take their ideas and feelings into consideration. My experience from many years ago now was a real head on disagreement on the actual time of the big day with my own mother. With her wanting the preceding later than I did became silly, but looking back I now understand she was considering others traveling from a distance on the day and actually your guests are incredibly important.

4.Taking care of your own health -nutrition, sleep and exercise.
We have all heard the story about how the bride tries her beautiful gown a week before the big day only to discover in horror that shes lost huge amounts of weight and now needs it adjusting and this is usually due to stress.
However take heed and look after yourself both in body and mind.
To ensure you have the natural glow on the big day, consider your diet and drinking enough water is paramount. Exercising regularly and getting plenty of sleep.
All of this might seem like common sense but once you fall head first into wedding fever you will forget these important facts.

5. Keep calm and let go of those nerves on the big day but more importantly stay in the moment and savor every single minute…..

And they lived  ‘Happily ever after’…….

Love is indestructible!

This life we live is precious,
This life we live is pure,
Could it be just an illusion,
Or am I dreaming from a nightmare!

Take nothing for granted,
Tomorrow is of no significance,
The moment is all we have,
Yesterday but just a memory….

Memories I often remember,
A smell, sound, sight evoking a thought gone by,
Let my mind wonder,
Holding on to the past for far too long,
For now she’s leaving me,
Her memories all but destroyed…..

So instead of tears, pain and misery,
Take this moment of now,
For time is just an illusion,
What is this time but now…….

Love I hold in my heart,
She gave me this and it will hold forever,
This feeling, this grief of missing is just an illusion,
For the strength of her love will never fade,
It’s memory is indestructible,
Our love eternally stored inside me, Gratitude of having been so lucky to have her as my mother……

To my son…

Your arrival wasn’t without drama,
You made your presence known,
But from that day I knew my purpose was complete,
As a baby you were demanding,
Screaming, clingy bundle.

Soon you were a toddler,
Footballs were already present,
Cute, determined, charming everyone you met,
Teletubbies La La, Fireman Sam,
Knights of any description and not forgetting the awesome Power Rangers,
Always still with a ball at your feet…..

You gave so much joy,
Happy memories of laughter and fun,
Friends came easily with your social attitude,
A brother you became to Libby and your love for her was clear,
Those primary years of football and sport lay foundations for future life.

A young man you have turned into,
Making us all so incredibly proud,
So I just want to wish you success,
In the next chapter of your life and many more years of happiness…..

We all love you.

Happy 18th birthday to you liam. Xxx

I miss her so much…

This picture is from several years ago now at a family wedding, but it epitomise everything wonderful about my beautiful mum, that laughter….

No one unless they are or have experienced the devastating effects of seeing someone you love lost to Alzheimer’s can possibly understand the pain, anguish, anger and utter sorrow.

Letting go when before you they are but not recognising the person they have become.

I long to share my life experiences, small things, milestones in my children’s life’s.
I know many people lose their mother’s and must long for the very same thing to have those conversations again but the truth of the matter is she’s here in body but she’s no longer my mother in mind….

I miss her so much………

Don’t burst the bubble!

Photograph by Kaychel   ‘Flickr’

Its magical allure of translucency,
Kaleidoscope of colours capturing imagination,
Bubbles we habitat without consciousness,
Floating around our own visionary dreams….

Don’t burst those bubbles with impetuous impatience
Forcing life’s fate,
Unconsciously bringing about a catastrophe,
Instead soak yourself with calm and yielding heart…….

Trust the bubbles wonder of temptation,
Anticipation is a prism of iridescence,
A palette of artists delight,
Hold fast until the brush strokes begin their canvas…..

I dwell on Possibilities of time,
If time were only eternal,
Our time however is limited and precious,
Preserve, cherish, endear in your memory.

New possibilities erase the old,
Ashes made from thoughts lost,
Let’s now concentrate on the promise,
For with this new found energy things will grow….

Hope has always simmered,
For now it has manifested,
Its colour is turquoise fresh and clean,
Blowing in the wind of the hands of times…

Like a petal in a rose bud,
Unfolding on times count
No sooner than its ready to climax,
To open to its prize of scent…

Never underestimate loves power!!

Photograph by ‘Corey bann’ Flickr

The power of love, we all know the song from back in the 80s by Jennifer Rush. >>>>>>>>

A true powerful classic Ballard.

Loves power

Never underestimate loves power, it can heal, warm, smooth almost anything in its capacity if we allow it…..

The key is to not be afraid of love, it won’t let you down because you always have the ability to give love.
We must love ourselves in order to receive love and that’s often where things go wrong.
We as humans have the ability to over think, analyse and cause unnecessary anxieties.
With these over zealous thoughts of negativity we lead into low self esteem territory.

Keep thoughts positive!

Keeping the mind positive, taking life at face value and perhaps being that little bit arrogant and not worrying about what people think of you, is incredibly powerful….

Rid yourself of ego …..

The ego dampens our happiness sucks it out of our hearts, remember the ego is your enemy.

Let love shine through!

Love needs nothing other than your realisation of its power, let it flow show it to family, friends and foe alike.
See its magic…..

Envy’s ugly poison!

The mood was vile and monstrous,
Gloom hung in the air,
Walking on fragile cracks of emotion,
Dare I speak in converse.

Ridiculous to feel fearfulness,
Of someone who holds envy within,
Can we guide this competitor,
To overcome the grudging poison.

Bitter of taste and mind,
Swallowed in gulps of rivalry,
Corroding away from loves cure,
Envy has turned to ugly….

Reply with compassions sweet essence,
Encasing the dark wounds with regard,
Cleansing the soul of its toxic venom
Could this envy be ugly no more……

Love lost is never wasted!

Photograph by Alex Calder 1

At first sight I knew,
The way his dark pooled eyes smiled
Deep into my heart I felt a flicker of desire,
Love can catch you when unawares…

Without converse I still felt the magic,
Could he feel the same,
Was love being cruel,
Or was this for real….

Introductions were made I smiled sweetly,
Dizzy with anticipated hope,
Glimpse of tender beginnings,
Love mixes up the emotion of even the strong….

A journey of wanting had begun,
I longed to be in his presence,
Always eager to spend time,
For always better to of loved than not at all….
